Memorial Garden
A Place of Peace, Remembrance, and Prayer.
The Ojai United Methodist Church Memorial Garden was created as a sacred space for the interment of cremated remains and for quiet meditation. Nestled on the west lawn beside the sanctuary, the garden offers a serene setting where loved ones can reflect, pray, and honor those who have gone before us.
Following a long tradition of churchyard burials in American and English churches, our garden serves as a lasting testament to faith, community, and eternal hope.
Interment in the Memorial Garden is available to church members, their families, and other baptized United Methodists, as approved by the Board of Trustees. The garden is lovingly maintained through contributions and memorial gifts.
All interments remain unmarked and confidential, with locations carefully recorded in the parish register. Each loved one’s name is inscribed on a bronze memorial plaque in the order of interment, ensuring their memory endures as part of our church family.
